A narrative description about the northeastern state of India, i.e. Assam should definitely come under the most evergreen portrait, as it is one of the notable states in India, mainly for its natural resources and evergreen wealth.

Assam

The beauty of Assam is could be attributed to its position, i.e. the way it is been located to various natural resources, like, Himalayas, Brahmaputra river valleys, North Cachar hills, Barak river valleys, National parks, wild life sanctuaries, hill stations like Shillong, and many more… The most favorable point is that Assam has got its capital at Dispur in the one of the largest cities in the eastern India, namely the Guwahati. In fact, this serves as the gateway to the entire state. Further, Assam is also located adjacent to other major states in the eastern part of the country, namely, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Meghalaya, which has also rendered importance to Assam in many ways.

Tourism

It flourishes as an attractive tourists spot for many reasons, like, presence of national parks, hill stations, historical monasteries, cities, etc… and the fact that the Kaziranga National park of Assam is included in the world heritage site for acting as a destination with the availability of rare resources, such as the one horned Indian Rhinoceros, is inevitable. The Kaziranga national park is quite large with significant area adhering to the Brahmaputra river valleys. It is also known for its other wildlife resources such as, Civet, Small Indian Civet, Sambar, Barking deer, Hoolock Gibbon, Capped Langur, Assamese Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, fishing cat, etc… The Manas national park is located in the Himalayan foothill, namely the Bhabararea in the western Assam. It was turned to be a national park, majorly acting as the destination of tigers and but, now you can see the national park acting as a home to more than 20 endangered species in the country.

Another significant tourist spot would be the small township center called as the Hajo. It is located in the northwest of Guwahati and also situated at the banks of river Brahmaputra, it serves as the center for communal harmony, as it is an ancient pilgrimage center for three important religions in the country, namely, Hinduism, Christianity and Islam. Whenever, you are visiting Assam, you should not forget the cruise ride in the river Brahmaputra, as the river serves as an example for both the sorrow and sustenance of the Assam people. There is also a largest freshwater island, namely, Majuli and is located in the Brahmaputra River facing in the South-East Asia direction.

Industries

Assam has seen a tremendous growth in the industrial sector, majorly due to its significant resource, Tea. It is one of the largest producers of tea in the country accounting to 51% of the country total production and 1/6th of the world production. This is possible, majorly due to the availability of wealthy river banks such as Brahmaputra, and Barak plains and could be found cultivated in most of the districts in Assam. The state has got a largest number of oil refineries and coal reserves too. The oil refineries of Assam have got efficiency of refining more than 3 million tons of oil products. It is also said to have 1200 million coal reserves and it is also inundated with granite abundance, which could be found in the central parts of Assam.
